Motor Storm Apocalypse

So as it turns out, Motor Storm Apocalypse is real, and in fact is set in apocalyptic San Francisco.

I know Troy has expressed due hesitance about the game being confined to a single location like this, but I for one am very excited about seeing destroyed San Francisco built out in such a great game. This is potentially the best real-life scenario for a game since Modern Warfare 2′s trip to the mall in DC or Fallout 3′s journey through bombed out Northern Virginia.

Additionally, I think San Francisco has enough interesting geography, both man-made and natural to make this a really interesting addition to an already great racing series. I also think that focusing the game on a particular locale like the Bay Area may allow the developers to explore greater detail in every environment, and detail is always a plus.
Throughout the game the city will be ripped to pieces, in real-time, as you race. Routes will be affected, as will our emergent gameplay.
Buggies using collapsing walls as half-pipes. Big Rigs on the rooftops of skyscrapers as they collapse. Superbikes gunning into the basements of enormous rifts. Supercars flicking on their headlights to barrel through the subways and sewers. Multi-vehicle pile ups on giant bridges as they buckle and twist. Driving through someone’s office and smashing up their desks. It’s all there.
Oh hell yeah! Gentlemen, start your engines. More at the Playstation Blog.
Motor Storm 3 ditches badlands for wastelands?

Some speculation surrounding Motor Storm 3, on Kotaku.
The French site PS3Gen claims to have gotten its hands on “stolen” images of MotorStorm 3, purporting to show the PS3-exclusive racer set in a San Francisco of collapsed buildings and raging fires.
If you ask me, the alleged leaked image looks fake. The HUD is pretty amateur compared to Motor Storm and particularly Motor Storm 2′s super stylized art and HUD. I can’t see them going backwards to this plain HUD style. I suspect somebody manufactured this image, but who can say for sure.
